How Intelligent SASE Architecture is Empowering a Growing Hospitality Portfolio

Recently, a large hospitality company operating multiple remote properties came to us with a growing challenge—limited bandwidth options and increasingly complex network traffic patterns. Their guest services, internal operations systems, and cloud-based applications were competing for the same constrained resources, often resulting in latency, security gaps, and substandard performance.

The decentralized nature of their environment magnified the problem. Each property operated with its own connectivity constraints, which meant performance varied widely and troubleshooting was limited by poor visibility, a challenge I’d seen before in hospitality operations.

Traditional network models weren’t built for this complex reality. The client needed a solution that could intelligently prioritize critical traffic, protect sensitive data, and provide centralized visibility without adding latency, complexity, or cost at every property.

In short, they needed a network architecture designed for modern, cloud-heavy workflows—one smart enough to adapt to their unique environment.

Finding the Right Fit for a Complex and Distributed Environment

Our team at Advoda began by leading a competitive RFP that focused on leading-edge architectures capable of reshaping both performance and visibility. SASE (Secure Access Service Edge) architecture quickly emerged as the strategic centerpiece. It combines networking and security functions into a single cloud-based service model, providing secure access to applications regardless of the user's location.

The integration of SD-WAN, security, analytics, and policy enforcement into a single cloud-native solution made SASE architecture an optimal fit for the client’s distributed environment.

During the evaluation, we needed to find a SASE platform that could dynamically prioritize business-critical applications, secure sensitive data without adding operational complexity, and provide real-time analytics across every location. Intelligent traffic routing was a must, and the client needed cloud delivery optimized for varied remote properties.

They also needed to improve north–south traffic control (data entering and leaving the network) and optimize east–west efficiency (traffic within and between sites). After comparing several providers on these criteria and more, we determined that Cato Networks was the clear front-runner, due mainly to its fully integrated SD-WAN and security stack, cloud-native approach, and exceptional visibility.

Validating the Path Forward

To verify performance in real-world conditions, the client conducted a live proof-of-concept and the results were immediate and clear. Network traffic was intelligently routed, business-critical applications were prioritized automatically, and visibility improved dramatically across all properties. IT leaders could now act on performance and security insights in real time, without complex overlay tools or manual intervention.

Latency dropped, reliability improved, and the user experience stabilized, even in locations with limited connectivity options. The POC quickly validated the solution fit. It was clear that Cato’s cloud-native SASE architecture would successfully resolve long-standing performance and visibility challenges without requiring massive infrastructure changes at each site.

With this important validation in place, the team at Cato Networks shifted to full deployment, building out a secure, cloud-native network foundation that scales with the client’s business.

Delivering Transformational Results that Provide Continual Value

Cato’s integrated approach to SD-WAN and security gives their IT team the agility to expand, optimize, and protect the client’s remote properties with consistency and confidence. The impact of the upgrade has extended across operational, performance, and security dimensions.

  • Network performance improved across all properties—

even those with limited bandwidth—thanks to intelligent traffic routing, automated prioritization, and continuous optimization. The user experience improved for both staff and guests, and the IT team gained a level of visibility they had never had before.

  • Security posture was strengthened significantly

Instead of relying on inconsistent point solutions across multiple properties, the organization now enforces a unified, zero-trust security model delivered directly through the network. Threat detection and prevention occur in real time, without the need for additional appliances or complex configurations.

  • The single management and analytics layer have simplified operations.

Troubleshooting that once required guesswork now happens with clarity. Strategic planning, once constrained by incomplete information, now benefits from live performance and risk insights across every site.

Their reaction to the quick success mirrored what we often see when teams experience unified visibility for the first time:

“Having total visibility and control over our complex network has made all the difference for our IT team.”

This hospitality provider now has a scalable foundation for growth—one that aligns security, performance, and visibility in a way traditional architectures simply cannot. The shift to SASE didn’t just fix their network problems; it established a strategic advantage that will support every new property, application, and service they deploy moving forward.
